
Enrique is a lifelong independent and third party voter. He has been an organizer and candidate for La Raza Unida de Nuevo Mexico, and worked on various issues in the International District. He has been a public health worker since 2001 and is currently the Executive Director of the Health Equity Council, which is Bernalillo County's health council.
Enrique's priorities are for all to have equitable ballot access, instant runoff voting, public financing, and to increase voter turnout. There is research showing that increased voter turnout improves health outcomes on a societal level. He hopes that eventually elected officials will come from a broad representation of the community and not just those with access to money.
